Question:
I am trying to create a Deployment and send via the PLUS! Network, but this stops while trying to build the Deployment. Why does this occur and how can it be fixed?
Resolution:
Acquire Editor and Acquire Player does require some local drive space when trying to create a Deployment and when it tries to apply or extract this to an Acquire Player. The amount of space required will vary on size of the Deployment, but you should ensure your local drive does have around 1Gb of free space on the Acquire Editor PC and Acquire Player PC.
If you should experience issues when creating or applying a Deployment, you should check:
- The correct content is available, such as ACQs and Media, particularly if you have made changes to the Project. In this case Integrity Checker can help to determine missing Pages and Media, which could cause a Deployment to fail. Please note: as the Deployment is built, you should see and get a message if files are missing.
- Clear Temporary Files, by running Disk Cleanup and from the %temp% location (type this in to a File Explorer window) and try again after restarting your PC. Please note: you may see Database full errors in the Logs when trying to apply a Deployment to an Acquire Player. If this is the case, then you should also try this cleaning up the local disk and try again.
- Run CHKDSK to check the HDD for possible disk or file system errors. It is advisable to not with this with /f parameter - especially if you are working on Client's Unit.
