Master & Slave Syncing will not play Video

Question:

We are using the Master/Slave Syncing feature in Acquire Player and have a single Master and three Slave Players.  This set-up has been working correctly, but having deployed a Playlist with a single video file.  The deployment was correctly received but the Slave Players will not play the video file and continues playing the older content.  Why?

Resolution:

Firstly you should check the Master/Slave settings have not been changed and are correct.

In the event there is only one video in a Playlist Master/Slave Syncing looks at the Page ID of the page to jump to.  If there is only one item in the Playlist, syncing cannot be performed and it will revert to default Playlist.  Therefore the deployed Playlist must contain an additional Page for Syncing to function.  In which case a copy of the first page can be made and put in to the Playlist, i.e. if the Playlist is only supposed to have one page to play when deployed.

TIP: when setting up the associated Sequence numbers for Master/Slave Players in Site Manager, please ensure the Master is set to 1 and the subsequent Slaves, are set 2, 3, 4, etc.
