It is possible to have multiple users using Acquire Editor?
In situations where multiple users wish to work on the same project, Acquire Editor can be purchased as a Site License enabling multiple copies of the software to be installed and operated at the same time, and users to share the same workspace.
To do this, select a computer (ideally a Server but this can also be a desktop PC) which will act as the central store for the data and content. Install the Acquire Editor package here, but there is no need to licence it.
Either restart the computer upon completing the installation or alternatively Start the Acquire Database Service in Services.
You will also need to share a folder or drive on this computer to the other computers which will be using the Acquire Editor, and share using the same Windows Share name on each of these.
Install and licence Acquire Editor on each PC it is required on. After licensing, run the application and press Settings. In this window, you will find the settings for the Acquire Database. Edit the Database Sever to be the IP address of the server or desktop PC hosting the central store. Do not edit the Username or Password unless instructed to by a member of staff. Next, press Configure Player then press Player Settings on the menu that appears. Change the Database Server entry to be the IP address of the central server.
When making Projects, ensure that the folders for each Project reside on the shared folder to ensure they can be accessed by all users.
Please note: that in the event of Database issues the Services should be restarted on the Server.
