Question:
How can I use Acquire to update my content?
Acquire Editor is used at a central location to manage the content, Apps, setup and configuration of your remotely installed Acquire Players. To transfer these items between the Acquire Editor and Acquire Players, they are wrapped up into a secure package called a deployment and can be transferred via one of the following methods:
Manual – Used when content does not often update or where there is no connectivity, a CD-ROM/DVD-ROM or USB Flash-drive is commonly used.
Point2Point – Used to push the content from the Acquire Editor to the Acquire Players, typically when there are few players, small updates, or when the updates are in the same location (a local network rather than an internet connections)
PLUS! Network – This method uses either our managed service or your own private servers positioned between the Acquire Editor and Acquire Players and will simultaneously transfer the deployment to all players as they connect in and ‘pull’ the content from them. Our managed service uses resilient servers in secure, Tier1 data centres to provide the fastest and most secure transfers to 1 or 1000’s of Acquire Players. The PLUS! Network technology also provides many other important features to help with a larger estate of remote Acquire Players.
No matter which method is used, Acquire’s deployment technology is virtually silent on the remote player, and uses a Delta Change method to ensure only the things that have changed get changed.
Please note: when using Acquire2Go, the web-based CMS uses a subset of the managed PLUS! Network technology to transfer the content to the Acquire2Go or Acquire Players.
