Question:
Why does my image look distorted or stretched when previewing in Acquire Editor and on the Acquire Player?
Resolution:
Typically, this occurs if the intended end-display device is not set to the same dimensions as the page, as a result images may appear distorted or stretched.
Here the image appears correctly in Acquire Editor, as shown below:
However on previewing the image does not appear correctly, as shown below:
Assuming the aspect ratio of your page is correct then you should ensure the Page Size is set to the same as the monitor you are previewing on or the end display which the player is running on.
To do this in the Toolbox, click Page Size.
Select the appropriate Page Size, you can use either pre-set options from the Profile drop-down list or input this manually and click OK and confirm the Resize Page.
You may need to re-adjust the image to accommodate the new size of the page, but now when previewing the page - it should appear correctly.
Please note: there could be other factors that may be causing a page to be appear incorrectly, such as the image itself being corrupt in some way. Whilst text contained in an text-box does not suffer with the same distortions discussed in this article, you will find the text-box and other shapes will.
