Question:
I recently saved my projects to an USB External Hard Drive and need to restore the data after my faulty PC was replaced. How do I do this?
Resolution:
The solution for this is very simple and only requires you to find and locate the required folder(s). First, install Acquire Editor and activate the software if you have not already done so.
Open the project folder, in which you will find another folder labelled Acquire Update. Open this folder and double-click on AcquireDeploy. This will automatically copy the files back in to your Acquire Editor. Repeat steps for each project you need to restore or recover. Similarly, if you run AcquireDeploy on a Acquire Player you can easily deploy content to it using this method and provides a quick and easy way of updating projects using a USB device, such as an external HDD.
TIP: If you are deleting the project backup from the source, then please ensure it has successfully copied in to the Acquire Editor by opening the project first.
IMPORTANT: some security software, and local/network policies may remove or ignore certain files in a manual deployment which is ran directly from removable media. Therefore we strongly advise you should copy the folders(s) to a local drive first and run from there.
Please note: these instructions are also applicable for Perception deployments.
