Playing PowerPoint Presentations in Acquire

Question:

Is it possible to play a PowerPoint presentation in my project?

Answer:

You can play Microsoft PowerPoint presentations in Acquire Editor using the Application Loader or the PowerPoint App (Plugin), although it is recommended to use PowerPoint App as it provides greater features.  

Additionally, you can output a PowerPoint presentation in the form of a video file, such as .wmv and import this in to Acquire Editor using the Media Tool.  However please remember by using this method you do not have the level of control as you would with the PowerPoint App.  Therefore you need to ensure you build any special transitions or effects in to the presentation before outputting it is as a video file.

1. To insert a presentation using the PowerPoint App, open the Acquire Editor and open or create a new page to edit.

2. Locate the PowerPoint App in the Toolbox and draw the window to the desired size.

3. Double-click the windows to view the Configuration. Here you can select the PowerPoint File you want to use, click ... and locate (the file may need to be imported into the project, in which use the Import Media option to locate).  

IMPORTANT: Please ensure you either use the PowerPoint application if you have it installed on the Player, otherwise you must the PowerPoint Viewer.

4. Ensure Control settings are setup as required and click OK.  It is a good idea to preview your presentation before saving and closing.

Please note: this will only work with Microsoft PowerPoint 2003 (or later).
