Question:
My template for the Generic Printer ACQ is not displaying the characters properly.
Resolution:
This usually occurs when you are not using standard English characters.
You can simply check the state of your PLF file for errors. The PLF file is basically an XML format and you can check the consistency of the file by renaming the extension from xxx.plf to xxx.xml (where xxx is the template name).
Once you have done that the icon representing the file will change, drag the file directly onto a Internet browser window such as IE or Firefox. If your XML template is formatted correctly you should not see any errors on the browser window. If it is not you will see errors re-parsing or other formatting errors.
You can now edit the template file with Notepad and examine where the fault lies.
