Question:
When sending a Deployment to a Unit has resulted in a black screen, having checked the logs I can see the following error, Unable to Save Acquire Settings. What is the cause of this and how can it be resolved?
Resolution:
It is likely there is an issue with the HDD, we advised performing a chkdsk (read only mode) in Command Prompt (Admin), first to see if there are errors, should this find errors please re-run this using chkdsk /f and schedule a restart to attempt to fix.
You should then repeat the chkdsk test to ensure this has resolved such errors, if so then a follow-up Deployment is advisable to test. Otherwise a replacement HDD may be required, in which you should Decommission or Deactivate the Licence first (if possible).
Please note: System File Checker - type sfc /scannow in Command Prompt (Admin), can also be used to establish of there is a corruption, also note, you may need to run this up to 3 times to resolve corruption. If no errors are found, please check Permissions, particularly for the Acquire directory as this problem can occur if the Acquire.in file or Database is unable to write to the Drive. If Permissions have not changed, then attempt to establish when the problem began and what changes could have been made prior to this.
