Question:
When clicking on the Taskman button in an Interact with Desktop Session, I only get a message that says Task Manager has been disabled by Administrator. I can use the Cmd button and run TaskMgr but this also results in the same dialog. Is there way to load Task Manager?
Resolution:
You may be unable to load Task Manager if, for example it has been disabled in the OS build stage. However there are a couple of methods to try to load Task Manager when in an Interact with Desktop Session:
1. On the Toolbar, click the Ctrl + Alt + Del button, as shown:
2. Wait a few seconds until the following window is displayed:
3. Click on Task Manager, to launch this. Now you can click on File > Run and launch applications like Explorer - which is useful if the Windows GUI or Explorer Shell is not running, e.g. if you use an automated .bat to close it on Start. Or other Windows programs like Services.msc in with elevated privileges can also be ran, as shown:
TIP: If the above does not work, click the CTRL Key button in the Toolbar and press Shift and Esc on your Keyboard together.
IMPORTANT: to continue to use Windows normally thereafter, please ensure you deselect CTRL Key.
